MEET YOUR WRITING COACH

Hi, I’m Rachel Miller!

I'm an author, ghostwriter, and writing coach. Basically, I'm obsessed with books—nothing is more powerful than a good word written at the right time.

In addition to publishing one of my own, When It Hurts to Hope, I’ve ghostwritten or collaborated on dozens of books over the past decade—with bestselling authors like Dave Ramsey, Rachel Cruze, Dr. John Delony, Ken Coleman, Liz Bohannon, Gabe and Rebekah Lyons, and Lysa TerKeurst.

Before a book lives on a shelf, it first lives inside a person. If you've got an idea that won't leave you alone, I want to help you get it out of your head and onto the page.

I’m not just creating a writing group. I’m building a launchpad.

In 2020, I started my first writer’s group. At the time, none of the members had ever published a book.

Five years later, five books are now published or in progress. None of us could have done it without the practical tips, feedback, and—most of all—the encouragement to simply keep going.

Writing is hard. I'm here to help.

Do I have to have a full manuscript already?

What genres are welcome?

Will you help me get published?

  • What genres are welcome?
Basically anything that falls into non-fiction: self-help, memoir, essays, biography, etc. We love fiction at The Writer’s Room, but the September 2025 - May 2026 cohort is specifically for nonfiction writers.
  • Do I have to have a full manuscript already?
No. The only requirement is that you’re serious about the craft of writing. This is a great opportunity to start and/or finish your manuscript, if you're working on a book.
  • Will you help me get published?
Yes and no. We’re not agents or publishing pros—we’re experts in creating books. But we will provide a plethora of resources, connections, and past experiences to help you navigate the publishing process.
  • What will a typical meeting look like?
Snacks, drinks, and quick catch-up to start, followed by a brief tip or teaching from your writing coach, Rachel Miller. Then, two or three members will have the floor to workshop their writing or anything related to their work. We'll conclude with accountability checks and a bit of creative inspiration to motivate us until the following meeting!
  • What if I can’t make every meeting?
That’s okay, life happens! But we do want you to attend as many as possible. Your commitment to this group is actually a commitment to your own writing—and you’re worth the investment. We'll send out meeting notes and resources for members who have to miss.
  • When and where will we meet?
We'll meet in Franklin, TN. The tentative plan is every other Tuesday, but in the application, you’ll tell us about your availability. After we’ve conducted all the interviews and selected group members, we’ll land a day and time.
  • What if I don’t live in Franklin? Can I still join?
If you live close by in Middle Tennessee and can drive to Franklin twice a month, sure thing! If you’d like to be considered for a future online group, please fill out this form and we will notify you as soon as one is available.
